I am interested in opinions and experience whether the new SLT would be better for BIF photography. Sounds like the ticket to me.

I've read mixed reports (I've never tried one). The majority seem to find it more difficult to track moving objects because of the reported slight delay. Others say that the current EVF just takes a little getting used to just like it did for the OVF. Also, the current top SLT model is a $700 camera - OVFs on bodies at this level aren't exactly great. The 10 fps mode would definitely have a delay because it is showing the image it just captured (not what is currently on the sensor as normal) between each shot. There is a lot of anticipation about what Sony has done with the EVF in the newer A7x model coming out later this year. – Terry
