newbie; Have blurry picts when people are moving

I have a Sony Cybershot DSC-S500, I love it, except when I take pictures of anyone moving even a little bit (with kids they never sit still) the people are always blurry. Is there a setting or a way to fix this?

    thanks

    Say no more!

Sorry I don't have a fix for it because I don't think there is one.

I have a sony cybershot DSC-P10 which suffers with bad shutter lag and I hate it!
Don't get me wrong, I have got some great pictures with it but everyone has to stay very, very still. No good for my toddlers that's for sure.

My hubby bought me a Canon 350D and now I let my kids use the sony for stills and movies. They enjoy it so it's all good

The problem is caused by too slow of a shutter speed to "freese" the action. Does that camera have a sports mode? If so, try that. Sports mode should give you a faster shutter speed to help stop the movement. This may also raise the ISO, adding some noise to your photos, but worth a try.

My Sony Cybershot DSC H-9 does best for action on the continous setting,on auto...
-as I shoot live music shows, with ever-changing lights,etc...sure you have to throw away 99% of the shots, but the keepers are worth it...
.heard the sports setting is not really fast enough on these cameras..tried it ,did not like the results.
Shooting for a Canon Rebel XTi,heard thats the way to go......
