Sony A200 flash question

Hi all, im hoping someone can help me. I have a sony A200 and i recently bought an external flash, its a Jessops 320AF which is supposed to work with the Sony A200, but it does not seem to, Does anyone know if this flash is supposed to work automatically? Thanks

Not sure if it is compatible or not, but I'm guessing it is an older design for use with the film bodies. There are not many flashes that are compatible with the digital bodies. What is the problem you are experiencing? If it is firing at full power only that would be an indication that it is not TTL/ADI compatible. If the flash allows manual power control that would be the only way to control output.

I see no 320AF on the Jessops site - only a 360AFD listed for Sony alpha. Also, a search for 320 on their site shows nothing. What makes you think that it is Alpha compatible? - TF

EDIT: Also, be careful because many of the older style flash guns fire at much higher voltages than are currently used.
