    So which camera company wins the 2008 MVP award?

    Canon? But then there is the snafu with the 5D Mark III? {black spot syndrome}

    Nikon? But then there is the outreagous price of the D3x?

    Sony? But then there are no snafus, reasonable prices, essentially equal performance?

    Panasonic? New mini DSLR development?

    Pentax? New pro level camera?

    Samsung? Making large mp sensors?

    Olympus? Steadily inproving 4/3 technology?

    Lots to think about.

    Lest I forget to mention it Leica S2 camera system? {medium format digital in DSLR size body, 37.5 mp }.

    I'll throw in my vote for Sony, introducing a 24 megapixel CMOS and a body that uses it at $3k, definitely impressive, also the fact that their products are by and large much more well priced than any of the competitors, but, this will probably not be the case too much longer with sony's increasing popularity.

    I vote for all of them. There is some great competition between them, and because of that we (the consumers) are the real winners here. IMO, it is because of this competition that we've seen so many innovations in this past year. Not only do we get these great new features, we're also getting them at great prices (well, with an exception here and there)..
