Minolta Maxxum 700 Si Equipment Compatibility

    Morning folks.

I'm new to the Forum and I'm looking to join the fantastic world of DSLRs.

I currently own (in addition to a couple of "point 'n shoot") the 700 Si with 3 good lenses and a decent flash (all Minolta). I'd like to get a digital body but would like to find one that would be compatible with the current lenses & flash.

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks.

    Jim

The lens will work on any of the Sony DSLR bodies. Which lens are they anyway?

The flash depends, I think the 700si is new enough to have Minoltas new hot shoe, and as far as I recall the new hot shoe mounted flashes are all inter-compatible. However, I would look up the specific one you have and see if it is compatible with dslr.

Good call on it all, 'Anbesol.'

I agree, what specific lens and flash are you planning to mount?

If you can't afford the heavy-duty gear ... have no fear, they used to do this with a piece of charcoal and a dark tent
There's no money in this ... it's just "love of the game."
Look, I did not create the optical laws of the Universe ... I simply learned to deal with them.

Remember: It is usually the GLASS, not the camera, that gives you the most improvement in your photography. Refrain from "INTRO" lenses.
