Minolta Maxxum 5000i HELP

My 1985 Minolta Maxxum 5000i SLR has "help" blinking in the top right corner of the display screen and I can't figure out whats wrong! I put a new batery in and still no change. Also has film in it now and won't rewind!

Ive had the exact same problem with my maxxum 5, someone said its common and requires repair, makes the unit kaput. However, with taking it out and reinserting it, I got it to work. The next day the battery prob came back, but I could do the same thing to fix it. I dont know if you tried this, hope that helps.
