    Maxxum 7000
I recently sold a 7000 I had aquired and the buyer said the camera would not adjust the aperture. How can I test this for my self?

Two ways, simple - put in manual mode, set aperture to ~ 1 second, set to varying apertures from nearly wide open, to f/16 and f/22. Once the shutter releases, look at the lens and see if the diaphragm narrows or not.

I am unsure whether or not the 7000 has it, but if it does have a DOF preview button on the front by the lens, you could test out quickly and easily the aperture diaphragm, just put in manual, hold the preview button and narrow to every f-stop.

Test the lens too - pull the aperture lever within the lens and see how it closes. The aperture lever is a small flathead metal piece in a part of the mount, you can use a pen to open and close it too.
