Deactivate the PRE-flash on sony alpha 350
Hello. I have a sony Alpha 350, and I like taking images at partys and stuff like that.
Now, what I hate about my camera is that before it takes focus and the flash is on, it FLASHES without taking an image, because it isn't focused (if on auto - which is recommended when taking images while drunk - manual focus can be hard).
Can anyone help me turn this off WITHOUT taking the flash off, since it's at most times need for getting good shots with people moving around with party light on, without actually buying a remote flash?

Re: Deactivate the PRE-flash on sony alpha 350
Which pre-flash are to asking about?
If it fires when you push the shutter button 1/2 way, it is the AF illuminator (provides light for the auto focus). Without it the camera may not find the focus.
If it fires after you push the shutter button all the way down, it is the Red Eye Reduction (makes their pupils contract so that they don't glow red).
Both can be turned On/Off - see page 80 of your mamual. If you don't have one, see:

In Auto it's going to set things the way it thinks best - that's what Auto is. - TF
