Beginning Minolta SRT 101 question
A friend gave me this camera and a few lenses. I'm very new to all of these terms, so forgive me if I get them wrong. He gave me a flash. The camera does not have a hot shoe on it, so there is a cable the plugs in the side of the camera. However, my dad had a Sunpak auto 422 D flash that he gave me. This seems to be a newer, better flash, but it had no cable.
Does anyone know of a cable for it to attach to cameras? I've googled and ebayed but haven't found much. Would the better bet be to find a Minolta SRT 201 that has the hot shoe on it? Thanks for your help.
Re: Beginning Minolta SRT 101 question
There's no shoe?! should have one on it, otherwise how would a flash attach? I know mine had one.
the accessary cable/cord usually comes with the flash, shouldn't be too hard to track one down. I'd try a local camera shop for that one.
manual here.

Re: Beginning Minolta SRT 101 question
I'm sorry, I was not clear (remember, newbie). It has a "cold" shoe if that's the correct. Not a hot shoe that triggers the flash. My old minolta flash has the cable that plugs into the camera. My better Sunpak flash... I have not been able to find a cable for that, unless someone knows of one.
Re: Beginning Minolta SRT 101 question
Most of the cables are generic, so checking around at camera shops or camera repair should turn up one pretty quick.
Have fun
