    Anyone for IR!
    Hi
I've got an A350 an I want to try infrared, Ive found an Ilford SFX filter (very dep red)
will use a prime lens to avoid 'hotspots'. will any of the 'creative styles' disable, all or in part the infrared blocking filter built into to A350. I understand that most DSLR's have this filter.
And as the camera is new I do not want to remove it.

    Hope you can help

Sorry, the filter is a physical item in the camera that doesn't move.
There's no software option to just swing it out of the way for some photos.
Maybe a cheap second hand camera for hacking is a better option for you ?

    Or try 30" exposures.
I did the following test with my A100: in a totally dark room, set the camera for a 10", 20" exposure and point at it with your TV remote control. If you see something, then is somehow capable of capturing IR images.
