Anyone ever order anything from sonyrewards.com?

Okay, I realize that I am spoiled by the likes of Amazon, TigerDirect, and NewEgg, sites that generally ship orders the same day and send out tracking numbers immediately. Heck, I have gotten orders from NewEgg within 2 days with standard shipping.

But I am so excited about the alpha 200 I ordered from Sony last Thursday, I just can't wait to get it. When I placed the order, I got an email confirming that the order had been placed and notifying me that I would get another email when it shipped. So here it is nearing noon on Monday -- an eternity in Interweb time, especially when you are as excited as little Ralphie waiting for his Little Orphan Annie secret decoder ring to arrive!

I was just wondering if others here have any experience with them and how ling it generally takes for them to ship. Thanks.

Thanks for the info, OldClicker. The site says my camera is in stock, so based on your experience I'm hoping mine ships today. I'd love to get my hands on it while the crocuses and daffodils are still in bloom!

I never got an email but I checked the site again this morning and it actually went out Friday and is scheduled to be delivered today. Yipee!!!

I ordered a hand strap from sonyrewards a couple weeks ago. Like you I never got a shipment notification but it arrived at my doorstep about 5 days after I submitted my order.

Yeah, it was waiting for me when I got home yesterday. Unfortunately, the CF card I ordered from NewEgg the same day I ordered the camera did not arrive yet. Very ironic, if you read my original post!

So last night I spent a while reading the manual and playing with the controls but I couldn't take any pics. Hopefully this evening...

Glad to hear that you received it. I tend to stick with Amazon for almost all of my purchases.

The CF arrived yesterday. Although I only had about an hour of daylight and it was raining off and on, I did get to play around just a little, but nothing worth posting. Hopefully I will have some pics to be proud of soon. I can't wait for the weekend and hoping for good weather. I live near the Red River Gorge in eastern KY, so I have a lot of opportunities for landscapes & nature photography.
