Another rumor - 3 sensor, ISO 918,200 still camera...

    Interesting if nothing else.

Yah, not sure what to make of this one. They've using 3 CCD setups for digital video for years.. Wondering how that merged with the current slt's and slr's is going to manifest itself. Definitely interesting at least... ;)

But the pixel count calculations are wrong, unless they take the mosaic and LPF off them and offset them so you have to do an RGB reconstruction again but at higher resolution.
    That seems crazy.
3x 16mp sensors should get you one 16mp image with no software lag on de-bayering and reconstructing the image, so rather faster performance then a current camera, if you can handle the bandwidth into the processors(s).

Or you could produce 48Mp by offsetting them and have 84MB of data* each image to reconstruct from the RGB channels - not quite the same as a bayer filter but still lots of number crunching.

    I doubt it'd be a sports camera

    * probably 14bits on the ADC so multiply by 1.75 lots of data.

True, similar calculations to the Sigma cameras. In practice notably better than the basic MP rating, but not as much detail as the "calculated" mp rating. As usual, the truth is somewhere between.. ;)

Still, it'd be interesting to see it in practice...
