anyone used the yognuo CTR-301P ?

im interested in trying out these wireless radio trigger/receivers cos i dont like having my pop up flash interfering in the pic.. ive been reading through pages and pages in the alpha strobist group but the threads go in lots of directions and my brain is about to explode. it seemed like some people had to fire the flash attached to the camera to get it to work but for others that didnt even work.. i have the hvl42am. and my sony adapter for my lightstand has the little groove cut into it for wireless.

I don't know about these specific radio triggers, but:

They will be manual flash only - no TTL.

The 42AM does require you to mount it on the camera before it will fire with a radio trigger. All you need to do is mount it, turn them both on and remove it without turning it off.

With any of these Chinese radio triggers you never quite know what will arrive as far as Sony or ISO hot shoe mounts and threaded mounts.

    The 'cut' should be fine.

There is a lot of talk about the TF-363/373 radio triggers.

Also, a piece of exposed film over the pop up flash will kill the visible light and still let the IR control light through. I use the pop up wireless on everything from light box macros to full sun hummingbird set ups. I think it works great and I still have TTL and (most importantly for me) HSS.
