    A700 and filters
I purchased a Sony A700 recently. I went on line to find a UV and circular polarizer filter. I saw the Sony VF-62CPK and ordered it. Now that it has arrived, I see that it is a filter set for Sony Handycams. It fits on the A700, but I am not sure if the "quality" of these filters is draging down the overall quality of DT 16-150 lens. Thanks for any help you can provide. Tom

Thats strange, I wouldn't think they made handycams with 55mm+ threading.

Anyway - what kind of filters are they? Multi-coated filters let teh most light pass through, and are the only ones I think are worth a damn.

Thanks for the post. I looked at the box and the instruction sheet. It does not say if they are multicoated. I was hoping someone from Sony would know.

then they probably arent. And I would say they at least bring some level of degradation to the quality. If they aren't multi-coated then they have some reflective properties, which can distort color, block light, create flare, etc. Now, how likely it is you are going to notice it may be another thing though. What kind of filters are they?
