Worried
Hi again, I've just opened my PM messages and I had 4. One from a member and 3 of these 'hi darling08:00 AM DrGenderon'. I know I'm old but I don't need Viagra just yet! Is there a way to stop this SPAM? I get over 100 daily in my email box, but I don't need more.
Sorry to bother you again. Les (Britpol)

Re: Worried
This is worrisome. I have never gotten any spam in a PM. We need to make sure that PJ know about it. Have you PM'ed him about the problem?

Britpol-
I just sent you a PM. It's not spam, either :)
I need the username that sent you the PM spam.

Photo John's well aware of these kinds of things, and it's a constant battle with the spammers. It usually takes a day or so to pinpoint the offending parties and ban them from the site...

Thanks for the comments. Any idea what more I can do to help? I'm expecting more.

I think it's all taken care of. I deleted all PMs from that user, banned him, and checked his IP address and e-mail domain to see if it was being used by anyone else. Spam happens. There's no way to avoid it all. But we do a pretty good job of keeping it to a minimum here. PM spam is the least common because it's more of a hassle for the spammer. So I doubt you'll see any more - at least not any time soon. But please let me know if you do.
And thanks! I'm sure you're not the only one it happened to. I deleted 100 PMs from that account. So you saved someone else the headache of spam in their PM box :)
