Photo of the Day script check

Could someone please check how the script that chooses photo of the day (affectionately known as the POD) is working?

To quote Photo-John: "Photo Of The Day is chosen by a script. It's based on number of views, how recently the photo was uploaded, and how many replies it has. So showing up as Photo Of The Day doesn't actually mean a photo is good - only that it's had a certain amount of activity."

About once a week (including today), a POD appears that has few views and no comments, while other photos uploaded on the same day have many more views and at least one comment. It seems like the script should be selecting one of those instead. This "problem" started several months ago.

    Thanks,
    Pam

Thanks for pointing that out Pam. I did think some of the picks seemed weird. But I didn't think past that. I'll see if I can get our developer to look at the script and make sure it's working correctly.

Adding an example of the situation -- today we have:
    http://gallery.photographyreview.com...137131&cat=549
Just 17 views, no comments or ratings, so it doesn't fit the algorithm used for selecting photo of the day.

It does come up with some weird one sometimes.
Don't forget about the Gallery. Are your photos there??
