    A departure from the norm

I don't shoot many photos like this, but for some reason, I was inspired to take it...

I really like the concept of this photo. It looks like a very interesting BG and the shallow DOF really makes me curious to see what's back there, but I like not knowing. I do think that your main subject needs to me a little more interesting tho, and a curves adjustment might help with the flat lighting as well. Just my $0.02

    Howdy.

Quite an interesting pic here and, personally, I'm kind of split on it. I almost wish in a sense that the cabin (is it a cabin?) was more in focus, as it looks interesting. Of course when you do that, you'd lose the nice crisp focus of the piece of grass in front. Another thing I like about this picture is the snow, nice little homely touch.

    Overall, I still like it.

    Great shot,
    Jared

Michaels post mirrors my opinion on this. A departure from the norm is always welcome.

I have a total lack of respect for anything connected with society, except that which makes the roads safer, the beer stronger, the food cheaper, and the old men and old women warmer in the winter and happier in the summer. Brendan Behan
