Messy but Good - Blue and Black Tanager

Sometimes "grab shots" that are kind of messy wind up being some of my favourites. I love it when there is order in the chaos of mother nature.

I snapped this one while wandering around the eastern slope of the Andes one morning in Ecuador. Maybe not everyone's cup of tea. But I liked it :-)

Re: Messy but Good - Blue and Black Tanager

Works for me! The composition is kind of busy. But the blue feathers make the bird stand right out. If the colors weren't so bright I think it wouldn't work. It does, though. I also think you've done a good job composing with the background. I am noticing how the twig and leaf on the left side of the image draw my eye back down and in to the photo. So even if it is busy, everything comes together and works well.
