    Canon 650d - 700d Same camera?

I know I haven't been around much lately. The new Job is taking up much more of my time.

I did recently purchase a canon 650d and was interested to note that the 700d has been recently released. I don't want to buy a new camera but I was curious to know what had been improved, so I looked them both up on canon's website (in australia but I assume this doesn't matter).

As far as I can determine the difference is 50 - that is to say the only thing that has changed is the name.

I have never known canon to change models and not improve anything - so did I miss something?

In my stand about this kind of process I think, Canon 650d is not same to the 700d camera. It is because in process of the camera they have different definition. So, how does it means that Canon 650d and 700d are same. Maybe it is same because it is usually a camera,I don't think so.

Yeah, they're pretty much the same camera. Enough so, that immediately after the 700D was announced, I snapped up a 650D (T4i here in the US) when I saw the price drop significantly. Here's my announcement article on the 700D / T5i:

    Canon EOS Rebel T5i / 700D Intro >>

For what it's worth, I am pretty pleased with my T4i. Especially since I only paid a little over $700 for it with the 18-135mm IS STM zoom lens. I am especially impressed with the movie mode continuous auto focus. I was expecting to be disappointed but it surprised me. It's very, very good. On the other hand, I believe Canon's 18-megapixel APS-C sensor is now the oldest and least impressive on the market. It's still good, but everything else is better. They really need to come out with something new and they need to do it soon.

    No, I don't think so,
I have gone through the overview of Cannon EOS 600D & Cannon EOS 700D.

The EOS 600D is powered by an 18-megapixel high image quality CMOS sensor and the powerful DIGIC 4 image processor. Features like Scene Intelligent Auto, Basic+ and Feature Guide make it simple to achieve full control over creative functions. The advanced Creative are integrated into the EOS 600D, as well as Full HD video recording and Video Snapshot.

The EOS 700D offers a full and solid basic performance that is clearly one of the best in any entry level DSLR with its high image quality, various functions of Live View AF and movie shooting. The Vari-angle Clear View LCD II with capacitive touch screen capabilities as well as the new 360 degrees rotatable Mode Dial design and Creative Filters will definitely also expand inspiration and creative expression.

alankarp - looks like you just copied and pasted some marketing text from the Canon site or something. Trust me - they're virtually the same camera. It's my job to know these things and I did my homework when I wrote my Canon EOS T5i / 700D intro article. We want to make sure we don't misdirect people on the forums so it's important we put out out the right information. The T5i / 700D has the same sensor as the T4i / 650D, the same tilt-swivel touchscreen display and the same basic video capabilities. They made a slight change to finish on the body, added digital zoom in video and made a small change to the mode dial. Other than that, they are the same camera.
