The week before Christmas I was invited down to Peru to meet and visit my girlfriend's extended family. Needless to say, I was excited to not only meet them, but to see the birds and other wildlife. While on our only day out of Lima, the capital, we traveled to the beach. I grabbed my camera, ran out to see what birds I could capture, and the only ones I could find.....were American Oyster Catchers that I can see in Galveston 30 minutes from my house.

Oh well, can't win them all. But on a high note, the food was delicious.
