I don't know. The most interesting thing or the focal point to me is the Painting/Poster. That to me is much nicer than the whole photograph. For that reason, i don't think this works. if your shot is less interesting than the thing you're shooting, then I think the art wins. For me here, my only wish is to see the art / painting/ poster, much bigger.
For improvement, I really don't know how to take this shot better, other than to make the art bigger and more prominent of course.

Thanks fellows. I realize it doesn't have a lot besides the painting/poster, but maybe this edit is more exciting?
