    Sleeping on the Edge

Should I clone the sleeping couple or leave it as shot?

Because it isn't obvious that they are people, I think cloning them out would be the right thing.

Really hard to notice them. I guess I therefore agree with the logic that since you can't really spot them, the image isn't about campers but the naturalism, so ... cloning is OK.

Nice scene btw. Don't forget to sharpen up the final resize.

Clone for sure .. they are too small in the frame to add anything but big enough to be a bit of a distraction. Still, it's not a place I would like to bed down for the night!

    Re: Sleeping on the Edge

I agree Mike. I would hate to wake up on the wrong side of the bed. It about a 60ft fall in the hole just in front of them.. Cloned it is...

NOOOO, Damn! I disagree with ALL a you! lol

No, I think you should keep them. They may be difficult to make out at this resolution, but I'm sure the shapes appearance would make more sense at an increased size, as this image seems more appropriately viewed. I really like the human element it adds, and it sort of cooperates with the very early lighting in the area. I think seeing the sleeping bags puts you there, makes you feel more a part of the image. Excellent work Greg.

There appears to be some sort of flare or other anomaly in the trees. I've included a copy with red lines underlying what I'm talking about.

    Re: Sleeping on the Edge

If the shape of the sleeping bags was different or if there was a better sense of humans, I would say keep it. As is, there is nothing definitive about that mass, so, I agree to cloning them out.

Could you include an image of the sleeping bag at higher res?

    Re: Sleeping on the Edge

Is it possible Greg that the sleeping couple really come into play in a large version and would it reveal that it is actually a sleeping couple? I suspect not but I would like to be wrong.

Thanks all, yes those were flares I noticed them before I printed. I always do one last pixel peek, lesson learned there. I will post a close up when I get time.

Here is the sleeper. This is a three shot pano that probably make the sleeper look smaller.

    Re: Sleeping on the Edge

I agree with cloning them out. As it's been said, the form is too ambiguous to be useful in my opinion. Also, if I were working on this shot, I'd be tempted to fiddle with some fill light (in LR) to bring up the shadowy areas. That may hdr it a bit too much for some...but that's my 2 cents.
