Very good symmetry in the image. Seems to have a 60's flair. I was just listening to a podcast yesterday where they said the human eye seems to be attracted to odd numbers ...and you seem to have quite a bit of that in the pic ...for instance, 3 neon lights and 5 window panes. The contrast between the old and young, big and small, black and white is great ...the whole thing works ...good job.

Tom I really like it. B&W works very good with this one. It has a Tuna flare to it. I like the mood it sets. I don't think I would change anything. Nice capture and well framed.

Intersting moment captured here. I think you've done a solid job with it technically and compositionally. I agree with llew's insight about the metaphorical contrasts - lots of harmonious alignments going on. There is also a voyeuristic element to it that I really like. Images like this are why I'm always looking into upper story building windows. Once I was rewarded with a sign in the window of a top floor apartment that said 'Stop Looking'. Will I? Not a chance.

Looks like a James Bond move, though the kid breaks that up a bit. Nice place, good eye to get it. Great crop.

Love it, Tom, and wish you would post more stuff. I get a Hitchcockian vibe - so far as the scenario itself and the implications therein... and the vintage b/w look, of course. And the older subject also just kinda looks like Al.

I don't know why I want to see balance on the left side, but I go back and forth between liking the crop the way it is and wanting something more symmetrical.

This is an excellent image, Tom for all the reasons mentioned already. I do love the voyeuristic way about this and you know from my past "looking in the windows" subjects that this definitely appeals to me. I agree with D that there is a Hitchcock feel to this, Perhaps a still from one of his cameos... ;)

I think the crop can work like it is or it can be made symetrical by slicing off the right frame a bit to match the left. In any case, this is fine work and glad to see you here again.

Thank you so much for taking the time.
I must say that the symmetry or lack of it never entered my mind too much but I like it a bit off centered.
One thing I was very disappointed with was my not noticing, at time of taking, the fact that a window mullion covers the TV set. I also did a lot of straightening as this was all over the place; The picture was taken from the ground looking up to a first floor.
Finding it difficult to know what to take a photo of at the moment and this in turn contributes to my lack of posting here. I have some new stuff on my website now which I have totally revamped so hopefully I will have some fresh stuff to post more here.

The idea for the shot was about the carelessness of the child minder and allowing the child to run loose. In this case though it may look as though the child is checking on the adult.

There's a TV set?!? Oh Wow! That's the everything minder! I am relieved to see that the baby is as yet unaffected by the brain washing. I wondered what else the man was looking at. Makes it even better but doesen't need it to make the image successful in my eyes. Now that I know it's there it's like there's another charecter in the mix and the baby is "breaking" the fourth wall by looking back at you, the Image Minder.
