    Green Torpid Discovery

I took this shot the other day as I found a rather fascinatingly entwined vine. So I decided why not take a picture of my eye looking through it? So I did. And I gave it an interpretation of worldviews and how they are they are the scope in which we see everything around us. If that makes sense?

Well I am a beginner photographer and so would LOVE any feedback with what you liked or what I could do better next time.

    Thanks heaps in advance

Love the image, Jen. The eye is tack sharp and the light is perfect. The idea of you looking through the twisty vine is good, and I feel the space you kept on the right side helps convey that rather than cropping right up to it.

I'm curious about the bg and the vine though. Looks like you used a very shallow depth of field but it also looks as if some additional blurring or smudging were done?
The vine seems to be smudging along into the bg a bit. Either way, the overall effect is still pretty cool, just curious about that.

    Nicely done!

I agree on the oddity with the background. Neat idea, and nice crop. I'd like to see one with you looking through the vine at the camera.

I have no serious criticism on this gorgeous shot, But this would be really fun for tone mapping and layer blending.

Excellent! Really, really interesting idea. I even like the bg, though I see what Liban, n8, and Gary are saying and you should definitely take their suggestions to heart.

    Don't bother tonemapping.

I could definitely see this in an ad. Very compelling work.

I agree with Gary on the unusual bokeh and 'smudging'. Well earned sticky.

I have to ask, whenever I look at your name, "Jen-ai", I want to pronounce it like Forrest Gump says "Jenny", is that about right? How should I be saying it?
