Sanderlings? Sandpipers? these were taken at OBX (outer banks, NC).
The first step is BEING THERE to take it...
Well... We've always lumped them all together and just called them "Sandpipers". But, there are many types of Sandpipers. You may have two types in your photos. One looks like a "Spotted Sandpiper". There is another that may be something different. Not much help I guess. Known locally as Sandpipers. Maybe someone else can contribute something more specific.
willets and the last is a sanderling I do believe. Shorebirds are my weak point.
