Also saw these lads at the Timbavati. There is a third but he was away safeguarding a giraffe meal that we found the following day - pics to follow. They look pretty benign here but had recently decimated a pride of females and their cubs - unusual behaviour to actually kill females!!!

That last shot with the chipped tooth and dappled sunlight is awesome!

Let's hope that their unusual behavior doesn't make them the next lions-of-tsavo.

Fantastic lion close-ups.

Here are some of my favorite lion stills from a Kenya and Tanzania safari over twenty years ago.

They often end up in forum "adult" sections for both sex and violence.

Seems unfair, since that's what lions do.
