Hello,

I recentely noticed this lens.
And I know it can fit any camera with 52-67 m"m diamiter.

I have a Canon S5-IS camera and I am thinking of buying this lens.

So before buying I would like to consult.
Is there any thing bad about it?
Will it fit my S5 or do I need to buy something like an extention tube for it to sit on?
Is it any good for the S5?

Those things usually have so so results. They will work but I think the image quality will not be as good as you expect.

Why not? this lens is known as made from high quallity glass and doesn't reduce sharpness at all..
My S5 has a good image quallity, not the best.. but still.

Well any time you put more glass in front of glass you are going effect the image quality. I am not saying it won't work, just your image quality may suffer slightly. This would be like taking a picture through a magnifying glass.

In all the reviews I read there was written that the lens is not effecting image quallity.
Thats why it's so good..
Do you have an experience with the lens? if not then what's the point of you answering my questions? :S not trying to be rood, but you say things with no base..
Or do you know what you are talking about? just asking.. because I dont know how to take your words.. seriously or just take them as a small advice.

No personal experiance using one. But I have seen enough on forums and Flickr. I have also seen these that do ultra wide shots. I am sure it will do what you are wanting, Check the link and see if this is what you are expecting? You can see from the Flickr shots it is in focus in the center of the images but out of focus in the corners.

Ofcourse it's only focused on the center, it's macro..

All the images on flicker are Micro Photography. From the images I viewed there are good photos, for single exposure micro photos there are very good with good DOF. With my 55mm 1:1 micro lens to get that DOF I would have to take multiple exposures and use focus stacking. I would also required to use extension tubes as those images have a magnification factor greater than 1:1

So.. what is the answer.. is it a good lens? do you know of any problems with those kind of lenses?
And do I need an adapter so the lens will fit the lens on the camera?

I haven't used this lens so I can't speak from direct experience. I will say that my general experience and most reviews I've read for screw on adapters like this one aren't very good. However, I looked at the Flickr gallery Greg McCary linked to and the images look pretty good to me. Of course, I don't know what kind of post-processing the photographers did on those images. If you really want to do macro with your S5 IS and the price is right I think it's probably a good buy.

John, as I read on forums from my country this lens is very good.
Can you please search in the most known photography forums known to you and tell me how good it is?

As I read, I will need to close the aparature as much as possible, but on the S5 I can only to 8F.. so I dont know if it will be good for me
It's neccesery because the DOF will be very very shallow..

And the lens will allow me to do macro from farther than without, right?

You've had lots of feedback on this lens from us now. I think it's time for you to make the decision. We can't do it for you. I looked at the photos in the Flickr gallery and based on that I think it will probably be fine. On the other hand, if I were you, I'd try to find a close-up lens made by Canon as I'd feel more comfortable with one that was made specifically for your camera. That's really all the advice I can give. I think you need to commit and buy it or move on to something else.

And the problem is that I dont know how it will fit my camera.. as I said I read that you need a large number of aparture for using the lens.. is it true?
I cant just run and buy stuff like it's free blindfolded..
