can we use canon speedlite 580EX II with Nikon d7000??????????

i have received a gift from my friend canon speedlite 580EX II ,
and i have nikon d7000, i want to know if the canon flash is compatible with Nikon d7000????????///

The canon speedlite 580EX II is a very sophisticated flashgun that works with the very sophisticated circuitry in the latest Canon DSLR's.

The Nikon SB900 is a very sophisticated flashgun that works with the very sophisticated circuitry in the latest Nikon DSLR's.

The "very sophisticated" bit doesn't work across manufacturers. If you set the 580EX II onto very basic flashgun-does-the-metering mode, set the D7000 to Manual mode with the aperture set at the aperture expected by the flashgun then yes they will work together. After all that's how we used to do it 25 years ago..

Sell the 580EX II and get a SB900 instead.
