    Space Shuttle Discovery Launch

Barely made to Nasa in time, traffic was hell. Took me 3.5 hours to get home, price you pay to get on the property. These were taken across from the VAB bldg.

    Incredible pictures Eric.

Believe it or not, I actually know Commander Linsey, one of the odd things you get to experience when you live 10 minutes from mission control :P

    Again, great series

So cool, how close were you and what lens did you use?

    Re: Space Shuttle Discovery Launch

Thank you Eric! What a privilege to even view these images! Wow! How wonderful to be so close to the Discovery Launch.

Have you considered having these published - like in some really good magazine - Life - National Geographic - Time.

These photos are worthy of publication. You are indeed one of a very few who have the privilege of being so close - and making the actual memories!

Thanks for sharing them here. You made my day!

The shuttles are looking their age.

I never even thought to wonder if the shuttle boosters were used in lift off. Very cool opportunity.

Yeah, they should put some new paint on there or something.

The reason it is red is because it is the color of the rust proofing that is on the tank. Originally it was painted white also but the found out that they could save or eliminate 500lbs of weight by leaving off the paint and only applying rust proofing, so it is actually not painted at all, Jeff

    Great pictures Eric!!!!
