I am really captivated by this shot. The sharpness of the log contrasting the blur of the water is what is doing for me, even though I think the blur is too much technically. Hmmmm.

Very nice. I actually like the very long exposure here - the key with these is not to burn the water highlights - and I see you have the tools to do it properly - nice shot. The only thing that does not work for me (don't know what you could have done about it either) - but all the little twigs - especially the ones in the upper third of the screen and to the right - seem distracting somehow ...perhaps a little bit of vignetting may draw the focus away from them?

A nitpick (and it is just that - nice shot) is that, on a waterfall, I like to see where the water starts and ends. The pool at the top is a great 'start', but it is cut off at the bottom. Of course, I have no idea what is there. - Terry

Very nice. Great clarity, sharpness and color. I like the slow shutter effect of the water and the contrast of the sharp log and rock swept over.
I'm not sure i'm liking the long horizontal framing here and keep feeling i'd like to see the right side cropped off a bit.

    Real nice work here.

a good start. If it were me, I'd isolate even more. If you want to showcase the moss on the log, show it to us. I'd love to see a crop of the near end of the log with some of the rushing water in the bg. If you had a longish zoom you could do an in-camera crop w/out sacrificing IQ. I'd also warm up the image a bit, it's pretty blue.

Really nice long exposure, I really like this type of shots where there is still object surrounded by a moving environment

I'll play with the colors of the submerged rocks see if you can make them brighter and a bit more saturated.

    Cool. Thanks for the replies.

Iguanamom, I don't have the image on the memory card anymore. But I tried to crop the existing image and it turned out okay (definitely sacrificed some IQ). Also warmed it up, though I tend to prefer most shots cooler. Also, the title is just a general description.....I wasn't trying to feature the moss per se. If you look at the far right side of the log, there is also ample moss......and I wanted to include that portion of the log too. But I like your idea and wanted to show the result.

OldClicker, I see your point on a longer fall.....this one petered out just below the frame. It was not a very steep grade.

llewpics, maybe this crop will clean up the busy nature of the twigs.
