Very hard bird to shoot in that scene. If you can adjust exposure in your camera, a scene such at that would need -1 ev atleast due to the camera metering so much white as a mid tone.

Very hard bird to shoot in any scenario. ( My camera is in auto)

One doesn't have time to adjust things when a Wagtail suddenly land in front of you
