This is absolutely amazing! I mean, somewhat terrifying, but amazing. Wish I had something constructive.

Yeah, I guess you never realize how prominent the blood vessels are in your eye until you macro them. This was a point and shoot and holding the flash. Gonna try this with the SLR and a better lens and more control over the flashers.

Agree with everything already said . At first I wasn't keen on that square light thing but after a bit of thought this adds to the intrigue.

    Re: Solar Caress

I would like to avoid that big a catch light as well, but I was doing this all hand held. I think with tripods and the like I can probably do a similar shot without the hot spot.

And out****ingrageous. Very, very cool. How many bowls must one smoke to get that effect?

Btw, catchlight - easy fix. Use the patch tool.

Very clear detailed shot. I think I spotted the Amazon River in this but for some reason it looks red, Jeff

Careful with these tight eye macros, you could put an eye out!

Thanks a great deal. I just noticed that. I was really excited by the look of this shot. Very nice to get the stick on it.

Gratz bro! I'd be curious to see a version w/o the catchlight, but I love it as is.

    Re: Solar Caress

Thanks Dray. I will eventually try to do the shot with the flash in a place that will not hot spot it, but it will be harder. One thing that was nice about doing this with the G11 was that I could sort of see and compose the shot while taking in because of the swivel screen on the camera.
