    A break from the rain...

I took a bunch of pictures at Lake Tahoe a couple weeks ago and the consensus amongnst my friends and family, and a couple people in the other forum here, was this one is their favorite. Thought I would post it here and get some more feedback. What do you think?

    Thanks

First of all, striking colors and contrast. It makes a powerful first impression for sure. I also like the way it emphasizes the grassy area, and the photo's simpleness. The stormy clouds add a lot.

If there's anything bad, I would fix the (preceived) horizon tilt and/or distortion. Otherwise, good to go.

Awesome. I saw this one in the gallery. You might have gotten slightly closer so the subject didn't intersect with the horizon but still beautiful.

excellent use of compositional symmetry. If I were to nitpick, looks a bit oversharpened, and like there is that resulting grain. Thats all I can think of.

What a gorgeous shot. One of the best I've seen here The only nitpick i have is I'm not a fan of how the top of the plant is on the horizon. other than that, beautiful stuff.

I liked this image in the VF thread, and still like it alot here! Other than the straightening issue previously mentioned, I wouldn't change a thing. Nice capture.

Simple composition and centering it works, i feel. great light, color and cloud drama in the sky. the light rays down the center adds another cool element.

Very nice. i agree about correcting for some lens distortion and straighten horizon .

    good work

Wonderful shot. The only things I'd point out are that the horizon is a tiny bit tilted and that it looks a little oversharpened. But awesome, otherwise.

    Congrats on the feature.

Thank you every one for the comments and feedback... and thank you John for the "feature"!

I printed out a "less sharp" 12x18 version of this and it is hanging on my wall, came out great!

sweet... pic is a bit grainy though... but you can smoothen it out with a noise reduction software
