Awesome photo. You have a great eye to capture/find this shot. I live the muted colors and the repeating reflections. I am wondering if the pole is a little overexposed and should also be sharper.

    Beautiful and colorful reflections

    I'll probably crop the pole

Re: Reflecting on the Mountain State Fair

Thank you arne and armando for the great comments! The pole is tiled in mirror mosaic. I want it so bad I might be willing to fake it just to make it work. I have a few more shots I haven't analyzed yet to see if they would work but knew the pole was going to be the sticking point.

Here are two follow up shots for comparison, I like them both but am having a hard time deciding which works better.

#2 of the second post I think works better, simple blue/ pink tones with no complicated reflections

Sorry, CL, but this just doesn't work for me.
If I'd been there to see what you were seeing then maybe but I have no idea what this is except that you say its a reflection.of a carnival game. Without the written description, I would only see some fuzzy colors.
Might be just my taste, but I need to have an idea of what I'm seeing and I don't find any clues in this image.

Thank you Frog! Great input and you are correct, perhaps if there was a ducky with a bulls-eye or something on it cruising in on e of the lower rows it would lend more info to reinforce the title. Perhaps "Midway Abstract" would have been a better title for the image.

Re: Reflecting on the Mountain State Fair

What the heck ..? Very tricky looking ! Not sure how to make it better, I think it works as is. I may clip a little of the black off the top just to prevent it from drawing the viewer's attention too much, but nice job.

I've noticed that if one takes their time and uses their eyes, especially at fairs like this, neat shots like this are all over the place. Just have to react fast.

If you keep your "home address" with your company as the state with no income tax, and have your pay direct deposited, with the stubs sent to the address with no income tax, then you should be fine. your W-2 will reflect your "income state" as the one with no income tax.
