    Bee

I have been trying to get these bees for a few days with out my tripod. I used the tripod today and also used RAW.

The picture is nice, colorful and has the right idea. But, as I am sure you can see, is out of focus. From the front of the image all the way through, at least on my computer, nothing appears to be completely in focus. I am glad you decided to use the tripod as, unless you have the camera set to a high ISO and/or can use a very fast shutterspeed, you will never handhold this shot. I like what you are trying to do and think with another go at it, you will capture what was intended. If I could put my hands on a few examples of my own, right this moment, to share, I would. I will look for them.

    Re: Bee

I'm in total agreement with CF.
I think you could have used a smaller aperture than f/2.8 and with the more depth of field you'd have got, maybe sharper focus, at least somewhere.
The wide aperture did give you a nice soft background though.

Are you using a remote trigger?

It may be the diopter too if this was manual focus.

    Re: Bee

I was not using a remote trigger and the blur is due to the bee not being where I wanted it and moving the tripod so it was not really sitting on all 3 legs. I will try again and see if they will cooperate better next time.. I also have a trigger so I will try that too.
