Absolutely stunning shot - ISS & Shuttle passing across sun

Incredible timing and detail (considering they're moving at some 16,500 mph)! Taken a few days ago:

Somebody has a bigger lens than I.
That is quite a shot alright.
I just stumble about my world never thinking about them until I see something like this.
    Keep Shooting!

Re: Absolutely stunning shot - ISS & Shuttle passing across sun

the ISS is in the middle, and quite small
    the sun spot is distracting
    the white balance is off
the sun surface appears with a lot of noise
why not use a slower shooter so some of the speed is shown
I think it will benefit from a reshoot a bit closer

    ok end of joke :blush2:

great photo!! thanks for sharing it

It is an incredible shot. The ISS transits (crosses in front of) the sun in .54 seconds!!! Now that takes timing!

I've shot the ISS as it passed overhead before. Setting a camera up and opening the shutter to get a line in the sky is easy. Putting your camera on a telescope and tracking the ISS is a bear!

    lol looks photoshopped. ;)

Maybe a closer shot would take that impression away? >

I've got a 4" telescope. But I don't have a sun filter. I have T-mounts for my EOS xt and my film XT but I wouldn't want to even think about pointing it at the sun without proper filters.
    Neat shot though..
The world is full of people who can hear a loud bang, feel a sharp pain in their foot, notice smoke trickling from their holster........ And never put it all together.
