    First 7-14mm test shots

    Greetings,

My new (to me) 7-14mm arrived on Friday and it's been raining for three days, sigh...

Reduced to snap shots of the shop

To put things in perspective, the table saw is ~ 7' from the lens and in view is 26' x 26'.

Then the sun came out for a few hours today, forecast is for T-storms later today and rain and SNOW tomorrow, yikes

My front yard just starting to green up, cropped to 16/9

I was surprised at how relatively "small" the lens is, it's a little chubbier than the 12-60 but about the same length.

Only had time for a few shots but it looks like aperture/focus is going to take some work to get the most out of this lens.

But the angle of view, Wowwww...

    Cheers, Don

It would be an understatement to say I'm pleased

Considering branches, leaves and grass are tough subjects AND photobucket doesn't help.

This is the same image as an attachment here.

And for reference, this is uncropped through Photobucket...

Nice. I am jealous. The 7-14mm is the cream of the crop.IMO. I hope you enjoy it for a long time. Be sure and write a review we need all of the lens reviews we can get.

Theres only one lens wider than this [aside from fisheye lenses] and I really want it mounted on a D700

It would be perfect if you could get a grad filter to fit it but with that said from some of the shots I have seen, mostly from MB1 you might can get by without one if you shoot RAW. I use a grad filter the biggest part of the time when I am going landscape work. Maybe soon they will get a micro version of this lens.

Hmmm, I could make a cap to hold a 95mm grad filter. $185

    Still something to consider.

    Cheers, Don
