    rich environment

Noticed one nest here a year ago, and just a head peeping over the nest.
At one time there were 8 Ospreys here at once.

    Re: rich environment

Here are a few from rather bad conditions.
Into the sun (should have got there early morning).
Into the wind (about 20mph) the birds sat head into wind, bum toward me.

    Wow these are really nice.
Did you shoot them all from across the river?

    Yes.
I only get one day a year photographing in the US - that's not motorsport or wife-driven
Unfortunately that one day the wind was 20-25mph onshore and unsuitable for working from a boat - so no point renting one.

FL is a target rich environment. Sorry to hear the weather wasn't in your favor.

    Re: rich environment

I was just overjoyed to have remembered the nest location and actually see them !
I ended up trying to get up-sun and tried the 300 2.8 with 2x and 1.4x converter stacked, more than a little soft but better light.
These are just with the 2x and double the normal sharpening.
