    Reflecting Heron

Another image taken at Barr Lake. I couldn't get a better angle to avoid the grass stems without being in the lake myself, so this is as good a shot as I could make. If the water was a little calmer, the reflection would have better a lot better.

    Re: Reflecting Heron

Thanks Bob & Kristine. I was waiting for an opportunity to get a less submerged shot, but someone else decided to scare away my subject before I had the chance. Gives me a good reason to try again another time.

    Re: Reflecting Heron

I don't mind the submerged legs at all. The reflection makes the shot for me.
My Brrr statement was a weak attempt at a joke, sorry.

Weekdays are the best time to hit Barr Lake you will have the place to yourself.
Barr Lake is a bird preserve. No hunting, fishing, boating allowed. Hike, bike or horseback is the only
access on the 8 mile trail around the lake. There are 6 boardwalks like this and 5 wooden blinds.

The average birder out there will walk 1 to 2 miles. but the best viewing areas are 3-4 miles in.
Next time you are in Denver let me know. I have a couple mtn bikes that will make that 3-4 mile trip feel like 1.
