    Re: Classic Old House

really neat shot Don, very well composed. The juxtaposition between the naked trees on the left and the evergreens on the right really adds something to it, and the sky is awesome.

    Don,

I have not been on line for a while, thus have not seen your pictures. This is very different for your usual style. The subject matter, the processing, the colors. Not sure what it is about this subject that caught your eye, but it works for you.

    Nice job!

This is very nice Don, pity its not a slightly larger image

Isn't it a cool thing in nature that the colours never seem to clash...

Great shot Don. It flows really nice. Not over/under processed, great comp and tonal like Rob said. Just as the eye would see it. Nicely done.

Wow Don, what an amazing looking place, would make (based on surroundings) a nice high-end hotel? Great composition.

while it does look like a a nice high-end hotel, I could also see the perfect setting for a horror movie....maybe just my dark side coming out....

I agree. I don't know if it has ever been used in a movie.

    Re: Classic Old House

Looks like a great time of year for photographing that house. I learned in the forest that winter provides views and vistas not available the rest of the year when all the leaves are on.

The dormant season really lets the lines of this old building show nicely.

    Re: Classic Old House

Don, one of the best I've seen from you here. Love the lighting. Whats also great is the way the trees frame in the wonderful old house, and as Dubbs5050 stated about the bare trees on the left and full evergreens on the other side. The sky with the streaks of cloud formations is perfect here.
I only wish there were a bit more to the bottom. Is this cropped off?
    Very nice, Don.

Hey Don, I was sitting here admiring your shot again. I am wondering what it would look like under a full moon at night with a long exposure??

I would like to add that the colors, trees, house, and angle that you took this at are really nice. I much prefer an angled as apposed to straight on shots. I think you need to get off the bus every chance you can, this is a great shot, Jeff
