    Kestrel

This is from the same event as the sheep. The American Kestrel is our smallest raptor. I've photographed them in the wild a few times, but never gotten as clear a shot as this one with its falconer.

Your comments and suggestions are appreciated, as always.

I like it! Is the background PS at all or is it just an amazingly eye catching coincidence?

Thanks. I got lucky on the background. I cloned the last 10% or so on the far right and burned the black in a few spots.

Tail is cut off a bit. Disregarding that it is quite beautiful.

Actually now that you mention it I do see a little bit of the cloning. its a slight difference, but I didnt notice it until i inspected it further once you mentioned it.

Very nice shot - I think these are beautiful birds. Does he hunt with it? What would it catch? - TF

Great shot. I also can notice the cloning, but only after you mentioned it and I looked for it.

    Re: Kestrel

Thanks for all the comments. Here's a link to the Kestrel for those who may be interested:

The falconer didn't mention hunting with it, but it feeds on what it can catch, including small birds, insects, reptiles and mammals.
