Usually, I would suggest that someone get to eye level on a "portrait." You've done that here, but I actually think it might be more effective to shoot from a little higher up, showing us that the bowl is really empty. Also, I think the fabric and floor pattern take up too much interest. The floor could be cropped out a little.
