Hm. Don't really know what to say on this photo. I think it is more of a documentary-type shot than artistic viewpoint (but that's my perspective). The lack of any humans in the image is interesting.

I can not see a focal point of interest, to me it looks like an evidentiary shot made to prove adequate safety procedures on a construction site. But everyone has a different point of reference.

I like the retro feel to this. The colour tempreture just screams retro to me. The problem i find with this is it's kind flat, all the lines are running either up or down. I woulda liked to see some perspective, some lines running in to the photo leading my eyes in to it or something like that.

I looked, and then came back and looked again. There's not a particular focal point but yet the photo has a certain appeal. I think the draw for me is the lighting and the color -- I love color.
As I played around with it, I found I like it much better with enough of the blah foreground cropped so that the red/white rail ends up at the thirds line. The photo also prompts my imagination - it seems the road guys have dug a grave for all those lovely trees to make way for "progress."
