    help! Circular polarizer - stuck!

Newbie here and I think I just made a pretty big "ugh-oh." I put my circular polarizer on my lens and rather then have the threads on the outside of my lens, I screwed it into the inside threads. Now I can't get it off. I have searched and read about the wrenches, but I don't see one of those as helping. I can hold the threads on the lens and see they are not spinning, but when I try to unscrew the filter, it just keeps spinning and spinning. Please tell me this is correctable and I have not just caused myself a really big problem!

I have a polarizer that gets stuck sometimes.. The trick is to use light even pressure.. The harder you try the more stuck it will be.

You know that a polarizer is two pieces, right? The front piece spins to adjust it and the rear piece screws into the lens. – TF

They can be tricky, especially if you have one of the thin ones.
Make sure you are turning the part that is threaded. If you have a rubber band that fits snuggle on the part you need to turn, it helps a lot.
I've had the problem, too, and it can be a hassle.

"Old clicker" yup, I did know that. And I think I may have put it on backwards (is that possible?) by screwing it into the front of my lens, rather then on the outer threads.

Thanks for the other suggestions. I'll give them a try and hopefully I can get this thing off tonight!

It sounds like you put it on right - screw onto front of lens.. Not sure what you mean by outer threads?

I think the outer threads you mention must be for a lens hood.
Inner threads is where it is supposed to be.,

Thanks, I got it! The outer threads that I thought I saw were actually the threads to the filter and not my lens. :blush2: Ooops! I won't make that mistake again.
