    High Elevation Canyon Views

I shot these yesterday off Foresthill Rd near Wildcat Canyon. Where I am standing the elevation 7132 feet and the bottom of the canyon is the beginning of the North Fork of the American River. A great place to overlook the Tahoe National Forest. Any critiques are appreciated, good or bad. Thanks again !!

    Re: High Elevation Canyon Views

Beautiful place! I'm not nearly as qualified to critique as many here, but their advice is good -- there's no better way to learn than to put your photos up and try to critique others -- so, here goes:

Your sky in #1 is very interesting. I like the darks and lights and the "blueness." I would have liked a little more detail in the clouds. The lighting at this time of day is a little harsh perhaps, but your trees seem well exposed and sharp. A chainsaw would have helped #2, I think. My eye is drawn into the picture but comes to an abrupt stop at the two trees in the foreground. #3 does not have enough light in the foreground for me. I find the jet trail distracting. I think the photo is maybe more interesting with some of the right side cropped so as to move the mass of the cloud to a 1/3 position.

My two cents. I'll be watching to hear what the more expert say.
