    Canon EOS-1D Mark IV Announced

    Canon has announced their latest EOS-1D professional digital SLR. The new EOS-1D Mark IV matches Nikon's latest with a maximum ISO 102,400 sensitivity and bests it with a 16-megapixel sensor, 10 frames per second capture rate and full 1080p HD video capture. It also has an updated auto focus system with new AI Servo II predictive auto focus. Can it match the Nikon D3S for image quality? How will the new auto focus system perform? We'll have to wait and see. For now, you can look at the pretty pictures and read the more detailed analysis in my announcement article:

    What do you think? Can the new 1D Mark IV take back the crown for Canon?

    Well it's cheaper than the D3S, but the magic question is, will the AF work, or will we have a repeat of the mkIII fiasco?

    I've never had to much trouble with the 1d M3, it was to fast in some cases, even with a mono/tri when following a subject. Myself i some times moved to quick or to slow depending on the subject if it took a while turn or quick stop. In some cases I think it felt to sensitive and focus came off during burst or non burst imo. 1d M4 should be a nice step up, 16mp not for sure how it will handle on noise. 10 was great for pressing up for what i shot, didnt have to many night time events. No idea what canon is thinking going up that much for iso no way will there be any image detail regardless of what it is.

    As for the specs on the 1d m4, everything looks great, expect for the 16mp and the 1cf 1sd/sdhc slots >.> x.X; SD/SDHC shouldn't be near this camera. CF 3/4/pro cards are about the only thing that can handle the 10fps raw sd will bog it down badly, dont know why they just didnt add a dual cf. 16mp is always nice to have to capture the extra detail, but in sports, it might be to much depending on how the iso testing reviews come in. Will it take the crown from the d3s, who knows, its gonna be close call. Kinda will come down on who likes the brand really. I've always enjoyed Canon more than Nikon. Even thou i have to use a Nikon for school. Even more on fine specs when stopping down, you still keep your 10fps, but as for what lenses, most likely will be the L only lenses. Sorry i jump around allot, i dont post many things on forums i just read ^^;
