I took this pictures over the weekend, while on vacation in Halifax. The public gardens is absolutly beautiful, I loved every minute. Any advice on improvments would greatly be appreciated!
Thank you!
I can only see the exif data on the first one.
I cannot tell what the first one is.
All need better focus as they are all soft. At 1/100th, I don't think camera movement is the problem unless your a shutter masher. What focus options does the xsi have?
The lighting seems pretty good on all but the third, which has slightly blown highlights and too much contrast between the light and dark areas.
Your compositions are pretty good but wish the people in last one hadn't lost their legs.
Very nice exposure on that last one but it is also still soft.
Did you do any sharpening?
The xsi has one shot af, al focus af, and al servo af. The first one is a close-up of a waterfall. I didn't do any editing to the pictures. They were all taken with the sun to my back but the third one. The sun was directly in front of me. Thank you for your critique!

I honestly think the first shot could of been in focus better, and maybe shot at a slower shutter speed.
#2. Out of focus or motion blur?
#3 I wish you had gotten in closer to the flower, and that white thing in the background distracts me.
#4 I would crop the left side just shy of the center to where the pink starts out, and crop the right side about 3/4-1" off.
#5 people are too centered for me, and like Frog said, too bad the legs were cut off.
Feel Free to edit my photos, However please explain what you did to them.
