    Osprey

What do you think? Kinda boring profile view of the bird, but I'm working on getting some action shots of this thing hunting as well.

I forgot to mention the equipment used was 1/400 canon L series + 2x extender + canon 5D.

    Re: Osprey

This looks pretty good to me. If you don't mind some post-processing, you could make it even better. I might leave a bit more room on the left. I'm also ok with as presented.

Did you take that shot in the wild, if you don't mind me asking?

This was taken at a pond surrounded by a forest in Pennsylvainia near my school, Eastern University. NOT a zoo.. as some maybe jump to conclusion.

    Re: Osprey

I prefer the first and third photos of the second post also. I think the eye in the first one is great and the third one has definitely got some attitude going on in that expression, Jeff

    Re: Osprey

Thanks for the comments! I also like the first and third shots but figured I was just biased because I took them. :-) What would you suggest I do with the noise? Post-process it out?

    # 1 shows the noise more so than # 3
In PaintShopPro I got a pretty good result using "edge preserving smooth" set to an intensity of 6 (better than 1 step noise reduction) but play around with it in whichever program you use. ISO 3200 is fairly high, so you need something aggressive without being destructive.

#3 of the second set is amazing. I would like to see some of the action shots even if they don't come out to your standards.

    Re: Osprey

Nice work, Dave. I agree with AE that you should have some more room on the left in the first posted image. Should be easy to add by extending the canvas.
The second batch is great. i like them all, but also agree that the 1st and 3rd are the best. the noise did not bother me at all, but you did well in removing and smoothing most of it out.
    nice angles.

    Re: Osprey

Dave: Beautiful work here. These images do this magnificent bird of prey real justice. The standing Osprey (Number 2 in the 3 view series) is my favorite. Thanks again for sharing these beauties.
