    Yes, it's very red.

    I find the small part of another flower top left rather distracting.
    And the lighting rather harsh.
    Ah yes, Olympus E510 - flash fired in the EXIF.
    I think you need something to diffuse the flash.

    But it makes the centre of the flower almost glow white, stunning.
    Or is that just over-exposure?

    If you shot this in raw not jpeg, is there any way to tone that down and get more detail in the centre?

    Oh wow, I was so taken by the RED that it took me this long to spot the leaf at the bottom just poking over the flower petals.
    This is so much about the red of the flower, I think that detracts form the image as well as the extra red top left.

    Stunning! The colour is very vibrant. It's just the glow in the middle that makes is just a bit off for me.

    Hey Vreyens,

    I agree with Paul, the lighting is a bit too harsh. it gives it strong shadows that aren't very appealing to this kinda shot. The centre is kinda distracting also with the bright spot. I think this kinda shot works best with subtle lightning and a good amount of DOF. good try though. :-)
