Was out for a walk today and went by the lot I've seen the Killdeer in (they may have moved on, I haven't seen or heard them in awhile), and came around a bend to find a bunch of thistle going to seed... and goldfinches all over.
These two actually let me get fairly close. I was thinking looking at these that one might be sick though... The beak and nostrils look odd. Or is that just my imagination?
